I try to play by ear, I'm better at figuring out 1 or 2 string riffs then I am at figuring out exactly which chords were used. unless it's just power chords, those are pretty easy to figure out. and when it comes to arpeggios, I'm completely lost.. lol

but alot of the time I do figure out what to play by using scales, etc. to figure out which two notes are gonna sound good together. so, I do both I guess..
