Is there a bass area of this site at all? if there was I'd a) like to use it and b) apply to be a teacher.

no there isnt. we dont have that many bassists visit these parts. if they do show, they typically will ask a question in the forums where they are then promptly answered.

I personally think a bass section would be a nice addition.

I play a little bass and it wouldn't be a bad thing to learn a little of that whilst i am here. :)

There hasn't been that much interest in bass (the question comes up maybe once per year) so we have never really seriously considered it.
The trouble is we aren't really set up for it, and it might make things confusing when you pick a lesson to find out "oops it's a bass lesson."
We are thinking about it, though. We just don't have it right now.
