Hi all,

I've encountered something new I don't understand. I was practising 12 Bar Blues and I came along this structure:

begin| I Chord (G7) | I Chord (G7) | I Chord (G7) | I Chord (G7) |

| IV Chord (C7) | IV Chord (C7) | I Chord (G7) | I Chord (G7) |

| V Chord (D7) | IV Chord (C7) | I Chord (G7) | V Chord (D7) |end

What does 'V Chord (C7)' mean? Can someone clarify this?

Thanks.

You're misreading it, it says "IV chord (C7)."

12 bar blues is based around a I-IV-V progression. In this case, the key is G.

I is G

IV up from G is C

V from G is D

So now you have your chord names, G7 G-B-D-F

C7: C-E-G-Bb

D7: D-F#-A-C
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

Oh right, thanks.

Yeah, I thought it had something to do with progressions.
