Ok guys I think I may have screwed up one of my strings. Its the 3rd starting from the bottom (thinner strings). I was fooling around with the part where the strings enter the body, umm i'll try to explain it. Theres the part where all the strings run through metal pieces that can be adjusted forward and backward and up and down. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to retune* the string, is there a specific height for each individual string? I really need to know as I'm getting better and better each day but that one string is always sounding screwed up and its affecting my music.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

And yes I know I'm an idiot for fooling around, luckily this is my first guitar and when I do buy a better one I wont make the same mistake.

Man, don't say that, you always have to screw around with the guitar.

It sounds like you have a simple intonation problem, it sounds like you don't really know what to do, so I'd suggest you take the guitar to your music store and they can fix it up real quick. Good luck  .

what sort of screwed up is it? fret buzzing? or out of tune when you play down the string?
if its fret buzzing the action needs changing (height of the string)
if its the 2nd one intonation need adjusting
use the search function someone might have explained how to do this somewhere
good luck

if you lowered the height, raise it, then tune the string and check for buzzing. make sure its about the same height as the other strings. if its still buzzing after you've raised it, then you might have a warped/bent neck. the simplest and easiest thing to do would be to take it to a music shop. they'll figure out whats wrong with it and fix it to the best it can get.

EDIT: if the strings on your guitar weren't meant to be tampered with, it wouldnt be manufactured in such a way so that you can tamper and alter the composition.
