lots of quastions

hey guys i need help on a few things

1.what picking style should i use, alternate picking or economy picking..or should i use both.
2. how do u pick 3 string sweeps.
3. wats a good site or program to find backup tracks that u can jam to.

what's the difference between alternate and economy??

i found a good site one time, just search for jam tracks on a major search engine. if you find the holy grail of jamtracks let me know! :P those always come in handy

For your first question I usually use alternate picking. It's just become habit for some reason. I say learn and use everything you can. Why limit yourself?

On the second question, it is tough to sweep but entirely learnable. I get better slowly, and every now and then I get a good one but not often. The biggest part of sweeping really ain't the picking so much as the muting. All you gotta do when you pick is rake the strings in the same manner you would a chord but for lack of a better word "slower". Tilt your pick a little in the direction you are sweeping. Muting is tough and getting the timing is tough. This site has good sweeping lessons. You probably need highbandwidth so if you are determined to learn i think you should sign up.

alternate picking is strictly down up down up, while economy is like when ur goin up a scale 3 notes per string, is to go down up down, then keep the down stroke, so ur goin down up down down up down down up down down up down, ye know wat i mean?

i use alternate mostly, but when i'm doing a strict scaling down typo thing i ue economy.
