Hi guys,

This is a little unusual from me, but here's an improv track that I made today. I made the backing track which has a 'verse' and a 'chorus'. In the verse I play the lead clean and in the chorus I put on the distortion. It was a fun track to play against because it let me try out my 'jazz skillz' as well as my 'rock skillz' ;)

If people like it, I might flesh it out into a proper song.

here it is:

or if that doesn't work, heres a rapidshare link:

If anyone is interested in getting the backing track for this I could post it.
Thanks for listening!

Edit: Obviously some of the lead bits especially during the chorus weren't improvised, but 95% of them were.

Very nice indeed! I like the clean lead tone, but the distorted lead tone seems to be lacking something. What did you use to make it? A Digitech modeling unit? Sounds like there was no cabinet simulation, but that's just what it sounds like to my ears. Not trying to knock your tone or anything, just saying how I hear it. Other that that, I loved it all. Keep up the great work! ;)

Thanks guys.
PRSplaya, I know what you mean about the distortion tone. My only electric guitar is hardly what you'd call a shredders dream. It's an Epiphone 335 Dot Deluxe, in other words, its a semi hollow jazz/blues guitar, which is cool for clean stuff, but a bit nasty for distortion.
for the distortion I was just using my amp distortion (Fender princeton chorus) with a bit of delay added in Cool Edit Pro.
Thanks for listening.

Wow.
Your playing is always so humbling man.
Could be a little longer though...say 30 minutes? :D

I can't record now cause my friends got my 4-track, but here's some old threads with some old junk I did, I'm only 16 and have only been playing for three years, so please don't compare it to your playing.

Sweet man. I liked the first one.
To record on my computer, I'm just plugging my amp straight into the input jack on the sound card. That's probably not the best way to record, but it's been working for me.
I'm 20 now and I will have been playing for 4 years next month.

Thanks. I can record into my computer, but I find it so much better and easier pushing buttons and turning knobs instead of staring at sound waves on the computer.
