I have been playing guitar for about a year, and I am currently learning the solo for 'Nothing Else Matters'. I was wondering if anybody had an idea how to get similar tone? My guitar (An overpriced Aria) has 2 SC's and a Humbucker, and I have a Behringer Distortion/Overdrive pedal. There isn't a lot of information about this song tone-wise that I could find on the web...

I'm going to venture to say that it sounds like he used a soft body guitar with passive moderate output humbuckers. He sort of gets that Slash/Les Paul sound going for a bit. For effects it just sounds like a bit of reverb, maybe, maybe a slight bit of flange. Unfortunately with that album, they were using so many amps, guitars and recording techniques, it's hard to tell exactly how they got the sound. I've gotten the tone with my LTD before, but I can't remember what effects I used.
