Wow. I am an Idiot. I got cakewalk sonar 4. I was really excited and started using it. I got this bright idea to record through my amp, i was not thinking at all, i plugged my a mp into the computer, everything went boom. Luckily my computer is still alive, and so is my amp, but, and i tried different speakers, my computer makes this loud buzzing noise and nothing else. This really really sucks. Do you think it might be the soundcard? if so can i get it replace it? help would be gretaly appreciated. thanks.

Not cool Armenian  , Though I must say he almost deserved it. You better hope its just the soundcard and nothing else. I'm gonna go ahead and move this to the Recording Forum.

I'd say it's your soundcard, and yeah, that can be easily replaced.

oh no one deserves to have thier sound card blow..I meant you ALMOST deserved what Armenian said for making that big a mistake. I didn't like what he said though. It wasn't cool at all.

I did that before, happened when I was trying to connect a 1/4 inch cable, jacked into an 1/8 inch plug fed into a crappy Soundblaster card. I was trying to get the plug into the card and bang everything blew on the card. Not sure why it happened but I upgraded to a proper soundcard that was designed for taking 1/4 inch guitar leads and everything has been cool since then. Bummer about the card man, at least now you can look for a good quality one made with guitarists in mind.
