does anyone know of a good, easy to use recording software? I really like garage band but it is only for macs and I dont have one. I would really appreciate it if someone could suggest something. That can do a lot, but is not extremely complicated, thanks.

Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?

Try Cubase. There's a bunch of different versions available depending on what features you want. Try eBay. You can probably find something for $50 or less

Full version of Cubase is quite expensive and very powerfull, I would start with Cubasis VST and move on to Cubase SX if you like it. There's also a "light" version of ProTools just out, between that and Cubasis you can't go wrong.
