Why is it that the instructions at the top of this forum are ignored?

All I want is a simple link directly to an mp3/video or whatever. I don't want to have to wade through other pages/look for links/register with the site etc.

Please if you've got stuff you want to show then make it easy to get to :)

I love to hear new stuff, don't make it difficult for me or others and do yourself a favour. Make it a direct link - PLEASE :(

Cheers

Dick

OK for one some places that have direct link capability only let you have two free shots at it then you have to pay. www.soundclick.com is free and easy to sign up to. No one is forcing you to listen or do anything so don't be condescending. If you know of a place that lets you direct link all you want for free then please post a link.

Actually, the sticky is there for a reason.
Most of these free sites don't work properly with all operating systems. (like mine). Meaning that you guys can post links to your freebie sites until the cows come home, and I won't be able to listen to your MP3's.
Not to mention the fact that it's a royal pain in the butt having to register or surf through multiple pages just to listen to something.

If you want your stuff to be taken seriously, get a web hosting service. For instance, I'm signed up with these guys.
It's like, $3 a month and you get 5 GB of space to put your MP3's or videos or pics or whatever you want...

Then you just post a direct link to them like this:
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/Rocksplosion.mp3

People can listen to your MP3's without having to surf through a crapload of pages.
Plus you can post high quality sound files of the lo-fi mp3's most of these free places require ya to use.

Try www.mp3unsigned.com

You get three tracks for free and can update and change them as many times as you want, or you can pay a small sub for extra uploads. When you post a link, it opens up with the specific song already loaded and ready for autoplay. If that doesnt work on a particular OS there is also a download option. I've never had a problem with it, looks good too and is easy to maintain and navigate.

Schmange I love you man but the three dollars isn't the problem. Getting the three dollars or whatever fee I need to pay to the people is a problem. I don't have a credit card or paypal account or any of that. The same goes for alot of our members. I'm gonna try this mp3unsigned thing next time, but I'd still rather have a place I could compile all my music at once.

Try looking around the internet for a web hosting service that accepts money orders. Or write to the customer service dept. and see if they can accept a money order. Most times they will.
A few years ago I didn't trust using credit cards online so that's what I used to do.
Later I sold some stuff on eBay and put that money into a PayPal account to pay for stuff online.
There's also places that will let you use debit cards now.

Once you've got a web hosting package, put together a decent web page on your own domain and use that to generate a little money.
Sell stuff like 'AllPosters' or your own CD or whatever. Join some affiliate programs. Put a PayPal 'donate' button on your page.

In the future I will definatly do what you suggest. For the near future my hands are tied. You need a credit card for an ebay sellers account for authentication purposes. I may try the money order deal though see where I can get. So I guess that means you never got to hear the rest of my music huh? Too bad you would really have liked it I think.

Would this be agreeable Schmange. Its only an extra click. These are the songs off that album I had posted earlier. I'll get the other three or four if this is ok. I really want to hear what you have to say.

What can I say... It doesn't suprise me.
Like I said, most of the free sites don't work properly with my Mac.
Even when they do, they're buggy and crash my browser.
