While you're at it, apply some heat-shrink tubing to the connections to add some strain-relief. Heavy wires can break the connections after a few years of loading in and out of gigs. Also, don't get carried away with your choice of wire size. For cab internal wiring, AWG #16 is plenty. Twin-lead lamp cord works just fine.
