Yeah, I got the three model packs. Spinal Puppet sounds good through a Marshall 1000DFX using the preamp to colour the tone but I found it lacking punch when I fed it straight into the pc and out through the studio monitors. It's probably the tightest of all and comes reasonably close to the Ma\ster Of Puppets rhythm tone. I probably like the overal tone of Big Bottom the most too but the problem with this setting is there is a lot of extraneous noise and hiss... I wonder will Line6 ever design an update that can reduce these problems from the high gain settings without having to use the noise gates? NG's kind of wreck tone around the edges for me. I don't know if it's possible to email model packs... if you know how, PM me and I'll send you over those packs.
Seeing as you're a tone junky too, check out the interview on www.angelo.com about the new Michael Angelo Batio cd "Hands Without Shadows". I listened to a few of the mp3 clips on guitar9.com and he has some amazing tones, almost all completely dry too (unlike his earlier FX driven tones). He got al of the lead tones using Dean guitars through basic Marshall amps with Dual Rectifiers for the rhythm beds. Interesting explaination of how this was achieved for each track on his site.
