how to tune my guitar

I got a new guitar for x-mass it a steel string guitar that came with some esteban stuff but i cant tune it the way hes telling me.

here u can download an electronic tuner to ur computer just as long as u have a microphone...it's really useful..i use that to tune my acoustic...pluck string by string and slowly tune until it states the note that u want it to be.. but be careful not to overdo it too much...tune slowly bit by bit...i carked my guitar onthe first day i got it because i tuned to much and the string snapped...i was using the pitch pipe and i had no idea how u use it...
