take it to a pro, there should be a tech at the shop you got it from who can do a set up on it. if not, ask them where you can find one. it needs the frets filed, the truss rod adjusted, and the action adjusted. fret filing and truss rod adjustments aren't exactly something to be taken on by an amatuer. I don't even try to do those myself.
the only thing is, the setup is probably going to cost you close to half what the guitar itself did. if it's been a year since you bought the guitar, then I doubt the shop would set it up for free. it's going to cost you, but it'll be well worth it. a setup can drastically improve a guitar's feel. a well set up guitar probably plays better then a poorly set up extremely expensive guitar. so it's well worth the money. (notice how I say it plays better, not that it would sound better)
