so, today, I'm at church and all, and my youth pastor starts saying that the bass we use in the band quit working.. well, me, with my new-found books on guitar repair, piped up and said "I can fix it". he said he would let me try.. so, I brought the bass home today, and fixed it in less then 20 minutes! ha ha ha! turns out, the volume pot had come loose, so that when you turned the volume knob, you were turning the pot too.. so, just a quick tightening, and everything was working again! now, this was an extremely easy fix, but I'm proud of the fact that I was able to locate the source of the problem, and correct it by myself. I think I may have finally found the thing I love to do. I believe you may be talking to a future luthier now. :D
