OMG@! steve vai and joe satriani are my favorite guitarists and i watch john petrucci perform with them on g3!

anyway i told him to check out michael angelo cuz hes a guy that does alot of appregios and isnt as boring as that dude in the link who's guitar didnt even have a good tone.

if you (Mikekalasheh) actually read my posts before posting some comment then you'd get a hint that i already know about those guitarists.

If you already know about them, then you would suggest them over Batio, because although he does some standard arpeggios, he does not have phrasing that can draw any attention what-so-ever.OMG!!! I SAW SPEED LIVES!! He's sooooooo fast, and those up-side down stunts are amazing!...Yeah I can be a sarcastic bastard too... ;)

Practising that much is sure good but I think we also need to find an effective way of practising. Find Methods of learning the psychics as much as the teqnuice. Anyone noticed when playing that you can have the teqnuice and the physical strength to play something but the brain doesn't connect properly with the fingers? lol :D

haha what a hypocrite! anyway i showed him batio only because of the arpeggios. those other artists dont do them as often as batio so i showed him another artist who does better arpeggios than that guy. whatever, this is going nowhere. by the way, batio plays left and right handed and at the top side and bottom side of the fretboard. thats weird. but he's not my favorite.

[QUOTE=alucard0941]this guy has extreme skill and somewhat evny that, but is quite a crappy musician. We as musicians want to make music that will please the listener and will take us on a journey. This guy plays too much of the same thing that we cant even take a breath between intervals, it gives us head ache when the entire song is just arpeggios sweeped with no time for anything else. The best part was in Shredder Symphony when he added the keyboards. And the reason was cause it was slower and more compredhendable. One thing I didnt like was the drum tracks. They were very monotonous. It was just DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM... There was no drum rolls between bars and made it very boring.

Yet I do applaud this guy's sweeps technique. Its very impressive. I just think if he were to tone things down, and then have a climax in his compostion with all-out shred, and then go back to more emotional music, it would make us want to click on the other songs after the first one is done.

BTW, I highly doubt Joe plays 15+ hours a day. Actually, no one plays 15 hours a day. ( I dont care what anyone else says, cause they are bragging). We sleep at least 8 hours of 24 which leaves 16. And I dont think he ever practiced 15 hours a day cause its almost impossible to practice more than 4 without wanting to standup, take a walk, and have a little snack.QUOTE]

Are you suggesting I don't know theory?? Duhh...no **** you have to know both aspects of your instrument. Practicing for 8 hours does not imply that you are just senselessy playing notes, without going over the theory of what you're playing. You have to be able to understand your instrument, and the music you apply it to.

Are you kidding...they don't use arpeggio's as much as batio?? Petrucci is all about open-voiced arpeggios, same thing with vai, and satriani...the only reason you might not notice them is because they actually have good phrasing and don't just slam out every basic 6-string sweep over and over. Explain how I'm a hypocrite, and you aren't?? wow...hahahaha just wow. Also, Batio isn't the only person who can solo upside down, hell I can even do that. He's also not the only person to harmonize two guitars at once IE- click here
