I just got a new Mexican Strat, and for some reason the amp cable won't fit tight into the port on the guitar. I was wondering if that nut is some kind of adjustment, or if it's a problem I should have them check out at the shop. Thanks a lot.
problem with cable hookup on new strat
Hey Everyone-
I just got a new Mexican Strat, and for some reason the amp cable won't fit tight into the port on the guitar. I was wondering if that nut is some kind of adjustment, or if it's a problem I should have them check out at the shop. Thanks a lot.

The nut simply holds the jack tight in the chrome fitting that is screwed to the guitar body. The way the jack is slanted into the body means that a right-angle plug will not work well. Use a straight plug. If the jack is not holding the cable plug properly, it needs to be adjusted or replaced. Take it in to a tech.
