i wanted to ask what do you think about putting thicker strings on gitar or slide playing? :confused:

Thicker strings along with higher action make slide playing much easier.

Doesnt really matter in my opinion. Just so long as you have some steel strings, besides playing on a more difficult setup will just make you a better slide player. http://www.bigroadblues.com/slide/

Raise the bridge so that the strings are a little higher off the fretboard.
You'll have to reset the intonation after doing that though.

I recommend taking your guitar to a shop... Buying a set of slightly larger gauge strings.... Then telling the shop tech that you would like your strings changed, your guitar set-up to play slide guitar with higher action, and you would like the intonation set properly for that set-up. They will know what you are talking about. Also you can ask if you can watch and you might be able to learn how to do it yourself next time. Good Luck
