We should do a secret santa or something.
Nothing expensive... just like a small, little gift of a set up picks or new strings or something for another full time member.

We could all find a way to pick a name out of a hat, and then mail off a small dumb gift to one the regulars here.

I dunno.... sounds like fun & it'd be a pleasant suprise to receieve a gift from somebody on the forum here.

Any entusiasm for this sorta thing??

I think it's a cool idea but it's a little late........Christmas is only a handfull of days away now.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

I think its a great idea...but ****, postage to the states will be expensive, I will have to buy from musicians friend or zzounds and get it delivered that end...then some unlucky sod will have to mail out here...hehe

also, left a bit late tho...why not give everyone (except Schmange) gifts on Schmange day?

I could probably afford picks and/or strings.

I like the idea. Probably a bit late to act on it though.

So.. who cares if it's a little late for xmas. I'll chip in and get something groovy for my secret guy.
Keep it cheap and under $10 or whatever.

How do we decide to match guys up?

I'd do it, but I don't think it should have to be guitar related.

I would say it should be limited to those who have been around close to a year, who are active and helpful participants, who can aford a max of $10 for an item and has the ability to ship to ship it to the other person. To keep shipping down, we might want to keep people in the same country together. US members with US members, Canada members with Canada Members, and so on and so forth.

We should probably start another thread for those who want to, and are able to participate. Only those who are able to do this should reply to it. There should be a time limit, say a week from the time the thread is started until it is closed. Then we can exchange names. I would probably say we should give people until the middle or end of January to have things shipped. I'm not sure how we should go about choosing names though. Maybe we could use the post number's of that thread somehow

I think it sounds great, but I am going to concede defeat...realising that I am the only active South African member around here...it really is an awesome idea, but the logistics of it ensure I am not to be a part of it.
