quite an interesting thread, and it has convinced me that perhaps YOU have had an out of body experience ( closest I came I was conscious during theta- hence the vibratory state you described ) but I'm not sure how to get sleep paralysis myself.

find I can most often control my dreams if I wake up like at 3 a.m. for whatever reason. When I fall back asleep I find I can control my dream better.
