ok, so i am in a band and i always come up with these riffs that sound pretty cool, but r always stuck in the basic phrygian mode and i can't get outta that exotic sound. i wanna write a riff that is more rock like and that trikes a more romantic note than these riffs i have now. Which of the modes is the best to base this riff on? i know all my modes and any help would be great, thanx,

Could you maybe post one or two so we can catch your drift.
Also maybe try just changing a couple notes in your current riffs to make them sound a little more western.
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
