2 guitarists

I am playing Prom for my school and we brought in another guitarist other than me. He isnt as good as I am, so I think I will be doing most of the complicated things. But how should the sound be set up? SHould he be less loud than me? Or should we stay the same? Also for Bass how should his settings be so it doesnt drown out the sound of my guitar?

The best thing to do is to have a rehearsal or at least a sound check a few hours before. Tweak the settings to where you guys think it sounds good. This is why people get paid decent money for being sound engineers.

dude, that all depends on what you play, who plays what parts and how the whole songs fits together...
you should definately have a rehearsal and full sound check before you play...that way, you will be able to sit and adjust everything until you are both happy.

yeah, do what sounds right. get some people to stand in different places all over the room while you play and get them to tell you how it sounds from all over.

make sure you can still hear the vocals clearly over everything else... nothing is more annoying than sitting and watching a band play while the singer appears to be mouthing the lyrics...
