Very interesting. I've enjoyed reading your progress reports. I agree with you on going with the top left panel color. It seems to stand out more, and show off the figuring in the wood better. Looks like you're doing a great job so far. Keep up the great work!

That wood grain is lovely!

Have you used any spray furniture polish in or near any of your tools or materials? Most polishes contain silicone, and that stuff will cause no end of fisheye trouble with finishes!

Not that I know of...

I didn't notice it until I'd applied the filler, sanded it back and applied more shellac.

I wiped off the sanding dust with a moistened but clean rag and dried it off with a second clean rag...waited for at least half an hour before applying more shellac.

At first I thought I'd put too much denatured alcohol into the shellac & it was somehow bubbling & leaving the 'crop circles'. It didn't happen on the first panel. In that I used clear shellac neat i.e. with no denatured alcohol.

I'm running out of scrap!! since I need to keep some to make covers for the control panels.

I did some design work today...methodology no more pics yet.

Thanks to all for your interest.
