Snow days rock. I live in eastern MA, and we were in school until June 24th last year. June 16th was when we were supposed to get out, but we had a blizzard and got 24 inches(or was it 28.....) of snow so we missed a whole week. Although besides that, it seems that our school never gets snow days, even though its snows quite a bit here. We were once the only school in MA (maybe just the south shore area, i can't remember) to go to school on one day when it snowed, if my facts are correct. Well have fun on your snow day(s).

In Western NY, it could snow a foot and school would be open still. For us to get a snow day it either had to be an ice storm or the snow would have to start falling at around 3am and fall at a rate that the plows couldnt clear it. Some places cancel at the threat of snow.

If weather permits I sometimes get snow days off of work.

Everyone come to Canada...really! We get alot of snowdays.

On a totally unrelated note...how many of your schools suspend for throwing snowballs?

Snow...what's that?

Yeah, but really it's snowed here I think maybe 3 times in my 26 years, yet with last Christmas eve being the only substantial amount with several inches. Ironically, at the time we were the only ones getting a real snowstorm for Christmas.
I mean c'mon...I saved a picture of a radar screen...that should tell you how often a snowstorm comes round here. :D

Here we get monster snowdrifts. You can jump off your house. Quite fun. Tubing is also popular out here in the hills. We've only got a dusting this year but I expect a blizzard or two by february.

we dont get snow at all man....in Johannesburg, the last time it snowed was like 20years ago, and its all quite famous...in every school I ever went to, their is a framed photo section on the wall...everyone has photos of that school in the great snow of 1983...(I think)...and from the pictures, it looks like we got about two inches...but oh, we do remember it fondly...

I guess its our lack of a real winter that made me enjoy the English winter so...the novelty value of cold/rain/snow has still not worn off...I still love it when it rains for like 10days in a row...

I moved to Memphis in January and it didn't snow one time. Maybe it doesn't snow here often? It certainly is cold enough..

It doesn't snow much at all down here. We usually get a few flurries each year, but nothing to get excited about. We might get a few inches every once in a while, and sometimes we get a lot of ice, which can get pretty nasty. The last big ice storm we had I was up in Memphis, and it took about 6 hours to get back to Grenada.
