string buzzing

ive had a squier strat for about a year and lately the strings have been buzzing alot is there anything i could do to stop this?

Make sure your strings aren't too old. If they're going black, change them. You should do this first really.
Check your action (distance between strings and frets) isnt too low. You can adjust that by turning the little screws in the saddles (clockwise to raise the aciton, anti-clockwise to lower it).
Make sure your saddles at the bottom arent worn. They probably wont be but its always good to check them.
If you're keeping the guitar on a stand, make sure its not near a radiator. This dries the wood out and causes it to warp. If so, ask someone at a local guitar shop to help you straighten the neck.
