I use the MXR in front of a Peavey Classic 50's overdrive channel, and I can get some mean and nasty high gain tones out of it. It sure would be a lot cheaper than a new amp.

well that's the point, I have an ENGL Screamer 50 combo and an BOSS METAL-ZONE. with most of the amps I put that Metal-thing on it goes mad. They just can't keep up with the gain boosted in their a...... :D

But my ENGL doesn't, but my Home-amp does. that is why it's broken down. To much gain and a to high volume-level. So I'm looking for an amp with the same sound only smaller and cheaper. The Vox has the same tube in it, so I hope it'll sound the same. and that it stays good under high-gain settings. My ENGL is just to big and heavy to put in my tiny room.
