effects

Hey, i wanted to gte an effect pedal but have no clue what to gte. im into heavy metal and rock like system of a down,metallica nad nirvana. so i need a good pedal which provides me the type of sounds that these guys use. so please could u let me know thanks. oh an there is a budget of about 100 buks thanks.

I m not sure what amp you have, but if thats what sound you wish to emulate i would start out with a good distortion pedal. Start with boss's metal zone, or digitechs metal master. A little step would be a eq, i think there great and would recommend scooping the mids or using the "smile" configuration as for that mxr makes a great eq. After that theres usually the big 6 or so effects in no order, chorus, delay, phaser, flange, overdrive/distortion, reverb. go to digitech home page and try out the audio samples of there pedals to understand what each pedal does, however i wouldnt recomend digitech myself unless you wish to get the whammy pedal.
