help explain basic proccess-recording to cd multy tract

hi im getting a porta studio, im wondering, do you record your tracs on internal memory then, play all tracs simutaniously to master/cd, and whats the diff between cdr cdrw and the diff. kinds of cd's, what is best for making a demo. thank you for your help!!
