Looking to buy one of these items. I play electric guitar in the basement at home and seldom with anyone else! I have a Jackson DK2 and Dinky DXMG. My amp is a Line 6 Spider II.

Guitarport or POD xt.

I am looking for a new toy to create different sounds.

Which one?

Pro's and Con's if any-

I have a pod xt live and love it.

I am not sure what the guitar port does, but I think it only works when interacting with your pc, whereas the xt works with you amp etc...not really sure of all this tho...I just know the xt is awesome

hopefully someone else here is a bit more helpful

Use the search function. There have been several threads on this exact topic.

Use the search function!?

If you have nothing to add why don't you use the SEARCH function!
Maybe some one has something new to offer or should one rely on buried threads?

No need to get hostile. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was only trying to help. Look through >THESE< threads for a lot of information about the PODxt, and both in some. I personally would rather have the XT over the GP (I actually do have the xt), because you can do more with it. With the GP you're limited to using it on your computer, whereas with the XT you can use it with your computer exactly as you would the GP, and use it with an amp or a PA. Sift through those threads I posted, and if you have anymore questions feel free to post them here. Or, if you find a particularly interesting thread, feel free to post in it to revive it. I'm sure others will chime in here if they have any experience with either. It can be a little slow around here at times, but be patient.

Again, I wasn't being rude telling you to use the search function. I was only trying to help you out. Most topics have already been discussed in one way or another. That's why I suggested you use the search. It is a very usefull tool.

Hope you find the info you're looking for.
