Should a standard Strat style tremelo be set so that its touching and exerting pressure on the body or so that its slightly raised. I don't want it to drop all the pitches when I bend a string and I want to know if keeping it against the body will solve this and keep it in tune over longer periods of time.

it was made to be floating level with the body, so you can do trem dips and dives. but if you put it all the way down so it's touching the body, then it won't go out of tune when you do string bends, etc.

I keep mine all the way down because I don't have a trem arm, so I can't use the trem anyway...
