usually for me, I get up on stage, and go "wow, this sounds better then usual!" then I get home and go "why can't I get that tone anymore?"

but anyways, I can't speak for the mesa/marshall comparison, though I can say I love the TSL100, but I also love the mesa triple recto (i've never used the stileto). however, I also used a mesa combo amp at a shop once (don't know what exact model it was) and I didn't like the tone at all, too fuzzy.
