I said hey. I joined a while ago, been lurking since then but have found answers to questions with out posting.

I have been playing bass for 28 years (Jaco Pastorius was my influence at the time) with a bit of guitar now and then although I started on the guitar. I am now playing more guitar then bass. Never played professionally, never had a desire to.

My set up looks like this, a ESP LTD F-50 w/an F-400 neck with tribal inlays, DiMarzio FRED at the neck and a X2N in the bridge position. I run it through a POD 2.0 and floorboard, an old Crate GX-2200H head and a custom (not Kustom) cab housing 4 Celestion BL15-400's.

I originally learned to play classical and Jazz although my choice of music was surf music (i.e. Dick Dale), Sabbath and AC/DC and a shyte load of punk. edit: I learned classical because my instructor at the time only played classical and I found it to be a fun style.

I have never really been good with a pick (getting better) but it is fun trying to reproduce some of today’s metal with a classical flare :D

I could not tell you what equipment works better or sounds better for a certain style, all I know is what I like the sound and performance of since I have no need to really know the ins and outs of the different products out there.

This may be a bit of a long intro but I am in a talkative mood this am before we head out to the folks house for T.G.

Yep, welcome. And with that much experience you'll prolly be answering (or at least have the capability to) more than asking. Feel free to add to the classical lessons/licks/practice, etc, section. It's prolly the most neglected.
