Ok, I'm going to change all of the tubes, pre-amp and power(although I changed those fairly recently).

I need to know, when changing pre-amp tubes (currently 12ax7's not looking to cahnge that tho...just new 12ax7's).
will it be necessary for me to bias the amp? if so, how? should I just take it to a tech? help me dammit!

You don't need to rebias after changing the preamp tubes, only the power tubes. When changing the power tubes, alway's make sure you get a matched set. What amp are you changing the tubes in?

a Laney vc 50 2x12 currently it has 6 12ax7's and 2 El34's...so if I were to cahnge the power tubes, how would I bias the amp?

I think your amp is a non adjustable bias. The only thing you can switch on your amp is a selector switch that selects 5881 or EL34 power tubes. Just make sure that it is set to the appropriate setting, and replace with a matched set of tubes. Check with your manual or a tech to be sure though.

I just retubed a Triaxis and a Simul-Class 2:90, emailed Bob from eurotubes.com and he gave me a detailed email on the procedure and reasons for choosing a particular mix of tubes. His prices are good and he is known for being an expert. Check him out.
