You can hammer on acoustics no problem, but of course an electric will have more sustain. To hammer on just pluck the note and quickly with force "hammer on" the designated note. Try out some trills to help you further.
high e----4h5p4h5p4h5p4h5p4h5p3h5p3h5 ect. Try other strings as well.
