Alright,the peavey manual states...

"Only devices that do not increase signal gain should be used in this effects loop(chorus, delay, reverb ect)"

Does that mean even a distortion like an MT-2 can't be used?

The boss GT-8 has "Level"(master),"Patch level","Level(amp model)",and "level(stompbox)".Hence I can control four parameters for the amount of volume the pedal gives.

Should I just plug into the front end,or will the loop work to benefit the sound?

No ideas?

Will my amp explode? From what I know, the loop cleans up the sound a bit by having effects come after the power section resulting in better sound.I really would like to take advantage of it.

I used to run a PODxt in the XXX's loop. It worked great. But, you don't want to run any kind of distortion or overdrive in the loop, because it will sound like pure arse.

Check and see if you have a line input/output. Those should work. You might even have them in the effects loop on a multi-Effects unit.

One or two small pedals probably could go in between the guitar and amp.
