maybe just start by learning some chord progressions say just 4 bars with 4 downward strums on each bar with 4 different basic chords you know.Get to know them by doing them slowly and slowly speeding up.When you feel comfortable with them do 3 chords and introduce one more in the mix.I've found that by just doing this you eventually master each new chord with some already known.As for music jargon just google it everytime you need to have something explained,you dont need to know too many musical terms to start to get with it--good luck
