Know the feeling, I've been playing about ten years now, for the first few I really got myself confused. I wanted to learn everything, now!! Anyway, my advise to you would be to chill, take a step back, ask yourself where you would like to be in say, 6 months and pick three or four areas to focus on eg, new chords, a couple of new scales, a new technique or two, then go at them like a lunatic until you know every scale position and chord that you have learned like the back of your hand. You'll probably find that you'll pick up some others along the way! I found this way much more rewarding. If you are really struggling with getting to grips with the basics I would say get yourself a few proper lessons, this way you'll have someone to guide you and explain any jargon or charts that you are finding hard to understand. The way I see it, the more stressed you're getting with not being able to work stuff out, the more likely you are to say sod it and give it up for good!!! Take it slowly and it will come to you before you know it!
Hope this is some help.
Oh, and the beginners lessons on this site would be a great starting point too!!!
