I have no idea what you mean.

Are you talking about playing fast, like 16th notes or something?

I'm kinda lost too. Maybe he's talking intervals?
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

If it's intervals, then why would he be talking about tenths? Not that crucial an interval...he could just say "Thirds."

Whenever you play an interval of third, one octave higher, you are playing an interval of tenth.
Take a "G Major Scale" for example:
G....A....B....C....D....E....F#....G...A....B....C....D
1..................................................10

And if you go from "A" to "C"(one octave higher), that is a tenth too.

Here are the pairs of notes from the harmonized "G Major Scale", using intervals of tenth.
G-B
A-C
B-D
C-E
D-F#
E-G
F#-A
G-B

A........0...2...3...5....7....9....10....................................................
E...3............................................................................

Red Hot Chili Peppers Ring a bell? It's a great song. The finger picking seems to be along these lines but I could be wrong.

You`re right.
They are playing intervals of tenth in that song. Only difference is they are playing "Melodic 10ths" rather than "Harmonic 10ths".
And obviously the key is different too.

I guess the cool thing about playing 10ths, is, you get a Bass line to go with the high pitched melody.

10ths sound real classical. I guess you could just play a b on the a string and a g on the high e string for example. Than move the 10ths around on those 2 strings with the open b string droning. hope this helps. but it probably doesnt cuz im a lousy instructor.
