i never said that they were my favorite band or that im there biggest fan i just think that they are better than most of the disposible tenny bopper bands and are like a breath of fresh air from all of the other 99% of crap that pollutes modern music. and slipknot is one of the most respected metal bands. slayer are fans. ozzy is a fan. pantera are fans. they are good not great.

i started playing guitar becouse i listen to slipknot. Mick Thomson is a guitar god and the reason he dosnt play as good as me can is becouse the record exec's say all of the bands fans are mallcore little posers. I heard that the next cd that will come out next year will have more heavy guitar.

If Mick Thomson can shred, fine, but if I were him, I'd do it on the records.
And while we're on the subject of musical talent, playing 20 notes per second is damn good, but can he do it tastefully? Not many people can. So artist shouldn't rely on speed to prove how good they are, speed meens nothing if it is done without taste.

Not everyone likes listening to bands with people who shred all over their albums and stuff (like me). I mean it's ok sometimes, but it just gets tiresome and untasteful. There's no black and white in music.

Well for you Slipknot haters, the leader singer, Corey Taylor, and the lead guitar player, Jim Root, are playing with another band right now called Stone Sour that is more mellow, and has influences of Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam. Also the drummer and the other guitar player are both playing guitar for another band called the Murderdolls. Maybe you'll enjoy their softer side.
