Carl Martin 3 band EQ has me lost
I just purchased a used Carl Martin 3 band EQ. It is the least intuitive pedal I have ever owned. My rig is a Strat, a Deluxe Revervb RI, and overdrive pedals. Has anyone used this EQ? Do you have some favorite settings? Thanks.

why did you post this twice?

Giving favorite settings would be kind of pointless since so much depends on the rest of the gear that is being used, but here is a guideline on how to use a parametric eq like that:
step 1: turn the bass knob up all the way, and keep the middle and treble on 0 (mid position). Now slowy go from 20 to 500 Hz on the bass frequency, and look for a "sweet spot." Keep in mind that a sweet spot doesn't always mean boosting a frequency, it can also mean taking it away(offending frequencies). Once you find a frequency you're happy with, adjust the bass level to whatever you think sounds good.
step 2: repeat this for middle and treble

The GE7 works a little different since you can't "sweep" through the frequencies like with a parametric EQ. But the same principle stands, boost and cut each frequency all the way to exagerate its effect and see what works well.

I'll give your idea a try. It is so helpful to have a place to start. Thanks again.
p.s. to Telemaster. This is my first post. I did not see my post immediately so I tried it again. Then I found them both. Next time I'll know. JD

Here's a little guide that might help:
Frequency range of electric guitar: (E-G3) 82Hz - 1570Hz
Overtones: 5kHz
Equalization: Fullness 240Hz / Warmth 400Hz / String definition 2.5kHz
