Ok, so there's a good chance I might sell my Warlock and get enough money out of the deal for a replacement pickup. So here's what I'm wanting to do. I'm going to replace most likely the bridge pickup at least in my Strat and I'm wanting a more metal sound... if that's any help. It's a single coil pickup and I've been looking into EMGs but I'd like to have a bit more to look into before I go making decisions. Some pushes in the right direction would help.

Sounds to me like you need a DiMarzio X2N.

I can only find it in humbucker format. I'm working with a Strat that has 3 single coil pickups.

The Seymour Duncan HotRails is an oustanding pickup that will fit into your strat....high output and balls.

DiMarzio SuperDistortionS (dp218) -simalar to the hotrails
DiMarzio ToneZoneS (dp189)
DiMarzio Chopper (dp184)

You're going to want to look for a mini humbucker that has ceramic magnets... ceramic magnets are the highest output of all pickups. All "metal" pickups are made with ceramic because it gives great clear, biting tone... and it sustains well and doesn't mud up when heavy distortion is used... Look into some mini humbuckers... like the hotrails or the Mini JB/DuckBucker/'59 set from Seymour Duncan.

EMG 81\85 is the way to go if you are wanting some serious distortion that sounds amazing.
