Metallica-what do you think about it?

Their really can't be a best of anything so far as music is concerned. It all comes down to personal taste. Metallica isn't mine either, but I don't think they're really doing anything terrible. So I let them be.

Lets Face it guys......

Metallica is a hell of a lot better than this new age S*H*I*T. Metallica , Pantera, and Slayer are like the only bands actully still playing good tunes and not turning to the ****ty side, such as rap-rock and soft ass ****.

Metallica is one of the greatest metal bands ever and to say that they suck or they arnt good from the saftey from behind ur computer is really pathetic. i'd like to see you guys join a band and be in it for almost 20 years with 2 original members and make it big, but untill then who the hell are u guys to say they suck, you think that because what you hear on a metallica albums is just what they can do? You think kirk doesnt play anything else besides a fast solo? well obviously ur a tard then if you think that, u got nothing nice to say, dont say anything ncie at all

Does anyone who's made a post in the last page of this thread actually think that they've made any kind of point what so ever? I can clearly see that a moderator has had to go through here and delete posts, which I haven't seen in a long time on this board. SO QUIT BEING IDIOTS!

My Thoughts:

• We all have our opinions- get used to it.
  


• None of you are ever going to see eachother, so the preening and posturing really has no point at all.
  


• Anyone whith any sense at all knows that instruments don't make the player. Neither do FX, amps, extra strings, fewer strings, or picks blessed by the Pope. If any of you think otherwise, I know people that will burn you into the ground with any instrument you hand them.
  

Now, in the spirit of free speech, I have to say I'm all for self expression, but don't be suprised if other people out there are more "verbally agile" than yourself.

Fine, I won't stay neutral.

Of all the Metallica fans I've ever come across, you have to be the least eloquent, highly ignorant, and generally "poonish" one I've ever seen. I certianly have nothing against Metallica, I have respect for their work and the balls they have to say what they think despite popular opinion, but how the hell do you think you're doing them any credit? For one thing most of your arguments are based entirely on... NOTHING. All you can really say is "I LIKE METALLICA, SO THEY HAVE TO BE THE BEST." You can't tell us why or how you came to this conclusion, much less articulate anything resembling a knowledge of the instrument or independant thought. Second, when you decide to move on to pure insult, you use the weakest, most tired ramblings I've heard since 3rd grade. "JEW!!!!"? I mean, that's only insulting if your first Antsemetic, and second haven't heard it twenty thousand times. When Godsmack took the rythm part of "Angry Chair" and crossed it with a fill from "Over Now" and called it "VooDoo;" that was more creative than anything I've seen come off of your keyboard.. And for another thing, if you want to hear some real guitar playing applied to metal, check out something like Possessed, or Buckethead, but I think he's too original for you to comprehend (since Metallica is clearly a fassion statement to you, not music).
Again, I say grow up, we'll all be alot happier that way.
