I have a Jackson with a FR trem on it and I like the guitar alot 'cause it feels good but tuning down is a problem. This little gadget looks cool but I am curious if anyone has any experience with it. Check it out.

I have no experince with those little things, however, I have had experience with the Strat-version which is called a Trem-Setter... they help the strats tuning stability a TON and they give the Trem a lot cleaner action... If I were you I would check one out... if you don't like it put it on ebay or something. But I almost gaurantee that you will..

I was thinking about a hipshot for my jackson (which is similar), however as long as the springs aren't shot and the knife-edge is still ok, Im not convinced it is any better than overhauling the setup of he trem.
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.

After reading some info on the hipshot tremsetter I decided to buy one. Got it new off EBAY for 30 dollars. I'll let you know more when I get it. I'm going to install it myself, it doesn't look to tricky.

So, I have had my Tremsetter for a couple of weeks now. I like it pretty well, it was simple to install. I just changed string gauges from 9 to 11 and had to reconfigure my Floyd and I like the heavier strings as well. Anyway, the Tremsetter has two little knobs you can dial to tighten up the spring on it so you get more tension\stability on the trem, meaning your trem bar is stiffer when you try to move it. I configured mine with three springs and the Tremsetter, the manual tells you to try the two spring configuration and I had it set that way untill I changed to the 11 guage strings. Now that it's all setup it was 30 bucks well spent. I would suggest this product to just about anyone who has a trem on their guitar.
