I can tell you what you need right now, in fact. Go check out some of Les Claypool's work (we'll start with Primus). Then learn to slap like a maniac.

We don't have many bassists on the forum besides Rasky.

Hey, Im bored..again..Does anyone know any really easy bass tunes, with a distinct tune..something similar to white stripes but not quite so simplistic!
Because..as you may already know, I am teaching myself, and so finding main tunes to play is helping me learn..stuff like the good old 7 nation army, and another one bites the dust.. ;)

If anyone has any ideas  ..please fill me in ...

Cheers, Kat ~xXx~

Check out "Big News I," "Big News II" and "Spacegrass" by Clutch; "No Excuses" by Alice in Chains; and "Dickeye" (pardon the title) by Jerry Cantrell.

All are fairly easy to play (Dickeye has a bit of a rhythmic hitch in the verse which will make it a bit tricky for you), but interesting enough for somebody like me who's been playing for over a decade to enjoy.

PS: You might want to edit your email address out of your first post... posting it like that on public forums is a great way for inviting tons of spam upon your inbox (as bulk emailers have programs which crawl sites such as this looking for email addresses).

Aerials. That's a good suggestion.
