I more closely associate the Telecaster as a country/bluegrass guitar... not a blues guitar... Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Eric Johnson, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, and Jeff Beck... just to name a few of the blues players that play strats............. just because Fender wants to market it as a rock guitar doesn't make it more of a rock guitar than a blues guitar... I don't like the constant twang of Teles... I like to run the full spectrum of tone that Strats have. But you're right they're both great guitars for many different styles.
