so while i'm in texas, my roommates went to our apartment and took pictures. you can see what happens when waters get up to ceiling level and guitars, amps, and other stuff soak in it.

the stuff you see all over is insulation because almost all of the ceiling collapsed.

the ibanez artcore and the orpheus(the headstock with the redburst) are mine.
okay...my post is done...goodbye.

probably don't why burger king is pictured there but it's where we always ate and pretty much were friends with everone working there. the manager always helped us out and let us in after they were closed inside....i can't tell you how many tendercrisp chicken sandwiches i ate there....a lot...certainly a lot.

even thoughit's not mine, the black bass breaks my heart because it belonged to the singer of my band and he got it from his friend who committed suicide a year ago....i really wish one of the four of us had saved that bass (the singer wasn't living with us but left us his bass and PA since we always practiced at our apartment).
okay...my post is done...goodbye.

Man... that hurts.
I don't know what the hell I'd do if my equipment got destroyed like that.
My 76 Gibson is like my first born.... I think I'd commit suicide.

Perhaps you could restore the bass. Sure it wouldn't be economical and would cost more in time and money than just buying a new one, but it's sentimental value could still be somewhat recovered. Then again, I could be wrong...not many of us know the effect on our guitars (with respect to the wood, clearly the hardware is corroded) after floating for weeks.

Just curious if you eager to return or are just going to settle in where you are?

actually this is more pushing actions i was planning on taking to the front...i was looking to move to orlando after my lease was up...so now i'm living with my parents in texas and working a job here and earning money without the loss of money like living on your own...so i'm saving up to move out and be with my girlfriend in orlando.
okay...my post is done...goodbye.

I'd get the hell out of anywhere there were hurricanes, tornadoes or earthquakes. What's the point of living in a place where it's just a matter of time before your whole house gets destroyed.

I totally don't get it when people rebuild their houses and communities right in the exact same places where they know damned well that they're in a flood zone or right on a fault line.

Hell man, move up here.. no earthquakes, or hurricanes or avalanches....
just normal rain storms about once every coupla years.

you know...it was preventable. you think people live in cuba because they're idiots? they know what preventative measure they have to take and they take it. local, state, and federal governments all messed up to lead to what happened in new orleans.

the federal government didn't give a sh*t about new orleans anyways...democrats or republicans.

Tornadoes aren't really anything to worry about. They have a small area of effect compared to other natural disasters and they don't fling houses and oil tankers around like they do in movies.

That's a sad, sad, sight.

I hope you have at least some of that stuff insured. You can't put a price on sentimental value, but they can relieve some of the financial loss.

Orlando? Well, different strokes...

Hey man, really sorry to see what happened. That really does suck. I hope you have an easy time w/ the clean up. It hurts me to look at the guitar pics. :(

no insurance...i couldn't afford it. we were looking into getting renter's insurance but i doubt that'd cover all the damages since it seems to be all flood related..
