I want one that has a floyd rose double locking tremlo, around maybe $900-$1100 with a really Rock n Roll Look and and Sound, I ahve excluded Ibanez from my search becuz I see a lack of quality in the fret work in there guitars and being that I live in minnesota with the rapid weather changes (i think on Tuesday the low was 45 and the high was 95 degrees) Im thinking of a Jackson SL1 or a Randy Rhoads model, give me your input!
My guitar is like an umbillical cord, its wired into my head.

There's that mean looking Jackson Roswell Rhoads, that looks like a spaceship. And Parkers are really nice. Maybe one of those black on black Strats with a floyd and humbucker. those are all i can think of that scream rock n roll.

I totally agree with you about the bad fret work on Ibanez electrics. Combine that with cheap electronics, and a neck made of three or more seperate pieces of wood, they're a tonal nightmare (i'm referring to the strat style ones, the Iceman is pretty damn cool).

I'd stay away from ESP as well. I've done a lot of tech work on a custom made ESP that cost over $2000, and despite the price, and great electronics (piezo trans, Duncans and coil splits), it was a tonal nightmare. It's shocking how terrible this guitar sounded.

Fender strat's are excellent, good tone, good looks, well made, feel as smoothe and sexy as they play. In my opinion they are the Mutts Nuts.

I find the Ibanez guitars lacking in build quality and need setting up with better pick-ups etc.

Dislike the ESP range and Kramer. Washburn are good and if you fit a Floyd rose on one it will still come in your price range.

Ive played a wide selection of guitars over the years and when I picked up my strat I fell in love with it immediatly.

Guitar buying is one of the most stressful times in a guitarists existence.

I'd say your best bets would be Jackson, Kramer (I own 3, the new Vanguard is superb), or Carvin (but I haven't heard much good about their stock pickups). You might also consider a Peavey Wolfgang, they're really good (and the neck has 2 graphite reinforcement bars).

i agree about the wolfgang. if you don't mind a signature series, they're great. one of the most impressive guitars out there, especially coming from peavey.

The only problem I'd have with getting a fender strat is that if i ever wanted to play it infront of an auidence it would slowley get out of tune. And if i did get a strat I would get like seymour duncan pickups in it, give me some more advise too, would a regular usa fender standard strat be good? whats the differnce between these deluxes guitars, etc.

Man, most Strats i know stay in tune great. You can throw a strat on the ground, it'll bounce and still be in tune. Also, if you get a floyd rose and duncan pickups on one, you'll be set. I think those Wolfgangs go for around $1000. If you do go with a strat, don't get noiseless pickups. These come on the American Deluxe series, and are really anemic sounding.

My strat hasent let me down, goining out of tune or sound.

I think people are sometimes put off strats because they are still very much the same in looks and shape as when they first came out, and other guitars often have a very differnent look. They are smoothe, comfy, a dream to play and very reliable in build, sound and looks.

Then again, gibson players prefer gibsons, ibanez players prefer ibanez.

The answer, go out and try as many guitars you can before you buy.

the only part of what fender blues had to say that made any sense is to try as many guitars as possible before you buy.
The rest of what this person had to say is complete hogwash,I wouldn't recomend a strat to my worse enemy. They are a common guitar that people choose just because they are more recogniseable than other guitars and everybodies dads/uncles owned one.

I must admit that Ibanez guitars are very desirable and i have always wanted to own at least one of em but there is only one guitar that i would recomend to anyone to buy and that is a Parker Fly, even though the deluxe or the classic are a little too expensive for you right now, just wait a bit longer and save some more cash or even take a look at the night fly or the P38/P40 all of which out class anything Fender have ever built.

Thanx for the support on my reply to UGH!! i need a new guitar. Sometimes people should think more about what they are goin to spend their money on, rather than gettin a sum total and buying whatever they thing is the best that their money can buy.

Not everything is as clean cut as saying for example I have enough for this particular guitar, so this is what I will buy, just to go out there and try other guitars can pay dividends, just like you trying the P38 has opened youre eyes and I anticipate changed youre view on a guitar that doesn't cost too much but delivers a great deal more than you could expect from any guitar from either a similar price or even from something a lot more expensive.

Taste is hard to come across, keep it up.
