Cant' change tabs very fast?
U mean cant change chords very fast? Well if thats the case...just slow down the song your trying to learn. U need to learn it slow first. Learning it slow gives u more time to change chords and once u've done it a hundred times u can bring it up to speed easily.

Theres only one true way to get faster....Use a metronome!!!!!!.....It's boring as hell and gets quite mundane, but it's the sure fire way to build speed.

Or u could do like i did an all the greats of the past did an practice. you dont need a metronome they didnt have those when hendrix was comin along an a guy like slash didnt use a metronome to get fast he couldnt even afford one back in the day. keep practicin an push ureself

Actually, metronomes have been around since the 1700's... originally invented in mid 1600's using a series of pendulums. The weighted metronome as used by a pianist or traditional musician was invented in 1900. Electronics metronomes were first invented in 1938 but only became mass produced with the popularity of the home computer and development of music software. You learn something everyday!

They didn't? Was it like, a lost technology or something? Pretty sure Bach had a few several hundred years ago...

That would probably explain why the two of them don't have the greatest technique ever. Paul Gilbert practices with a metronome, Satriani practices with a metronome, Slash definitely practices with a metronome, and it is absolutely ridiculous to say he "can't afford one." Metronomes are, like, five bucks dude.

$5? I went to my guitar shop, asked to look at their metronomes, they had three.. a $20 one that basically just clicked, a $40 one that had a volume control and a headphone jack, and a $50 one that had LED's and you could turn the sound off for use on stage without the clicking.
either way, they weren't $5... which is why I still don't have a metronome, and I still have a pretty bad sense of rhythm and can't play very fast.

I got mine for 10 bucks clicks and has a flashing setting....any how metronomes are one of the easiest ways to build speed and accuracy

there's a nasty online metronome if you're desperate....
Seriously, you have to have a metronome or you'll end up sounding like slash! :D
Bad timing is the single worst thing about most guitar players....

I've got a question. When using a metronome. Should I pick the string each time the metronome makes a sound or just in the same timing as the metronome?
# 13
Just in the same timing. Unless you happen to want to do quarter notes. I usually do 16th notes (4 per click) with the metronome.

well, it depends on the timing for example 3/4
