I keep seeing these websites for free ipods if you send referrals to friends or something. It all sounds kind of absurd and i want to know if anyone here has done that kind of offer.

Yeah, stay away for sure. It's a scam. Nothings free, not even freedom! HAHA
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

I saw some wierd news thing on the internet on that, I think it was taken from an actual news broadcast from somewhere, it said something like "how are they making profit by giving stuff away for free?" and the thing is, they get money for every person they get to sign up, so if you you refer like 10 friends or whatever, then you actually do get it, but, you probably will get tons of spam for the rest of your life, and you still have to pay shipping I think. and, you can't just refer 10 friends... you have to get them to actually sign up! which most won't want to do (my friends anyway). I'd stay away from the ones promising xbox 360s though, those aren't even out yet, so how could they have them? if you want to, you could give it a try, I think it is not a scam, but you will probably get a whole bunch of spam mail both to your e-mail and to your home for the rest of your life though. and the shipping will probably be around $10 so, if you have some friends that will definately sign up, then give it a try, let us know how it goes... (you'll probably need to wait for 6-8 weeks shipping too of course  )

It's not a scam. They just make it very difficult for you to actually get anything for free.

There are websites out there with so-called "conga-lines" where you sign up and get in line to get free toys. It takes the work out of your own hands, but it probably takes a long time.

yeah, my friend did that. but in order to do it, you suscribe to some weird random thing that gave him loads of virus's before he even knew about it
and you also have to get 5 more people to do it before you even get the ipod.

its not worth the screwed-up computer.

If I can get a toy worth hundreds of dollars for free, it'd totally be worth putting in my 'recovery' disk. :-)
