Hello all,

I need a little help identifying a piece of equipment. In the clip at the link below you can here the sound I am talking about. It's an Echo & the Bunnymen song in which Will Sergeant uses something that he holds on or over the strings in the area of the pickups. I believe it works by causing a constant vibration of the strings and he frets the strings as usual to change notes. Does anyone know what piece of equipment this is and how it really works? It creates kind of an eerie sound and I might like to try it out.

Thanks for your time and have a nice day!

It's probably an E-Bow.

Ian,

Thanks for your post. After seeing what an E-bow is on the Sam Ash website, I can tell it's what Will uses from when I have seen him play.

Thanks again,

Greg :)
